From the Islands to Maryland Tables

My Story

Hi, I’m Yvonne, the creator of Da Heat. Growing up in a Caribbean household, my favorite memories involve long afternoons in the kitchen, watching aunties and uncles stir bubbling pots of pepper sauce. When I moved to Edgewood, Maryland, I missed those flavors. What started as a personal craving quickly turned into a passion project: recreating those sauces for friends and family, tweaking and tasting until they were just right.

Roots & Inspiration

Da Heat’s recipes are rooted in the rich culinary traditions of the Caribbean. Scotch bonnet peppers bring citrusy heat; jalapeños and Korean peppers provide gentle warmth; tropical fruits like mango, papaya and pineapple add sweetness. Each blend is designed to balance flavor and fire. Some bottles are mellow enough for breakfast, others will test even the bravest spice lover — but every bottle delivers authentic island character.

Our Values

Flavor First:

Spice should never overpower taste. Every sauce is crafted to highlight both heat and flavor.

Honest Ingredients:

We use real peppers, herbs and fruit — nothing artificial.

Community:

We’re proud to be part of Maryland’s maker movement. You can find us at local markets, festivals and pop‑ups.

Sharing the Heat:

We believe food is love. That’s why we donate a portion of our sales to local food banks and community gardens.

Crafted With Care

We keep our batches intentionally small. That means chopping vegetables by hand, tasting every batch and adjusting seasoning until it sings. We source ingredients locally whenever possible and always prioritize freshness. It takes longer this way, but we think you’ll taste the difference in every drop.
